Autumn 2020 - TCF Newsletter | www.tcf.org.uk 9 dates for the summer TCF walks. We parted looking forward to meeting up soon, maybe around Matt’s anniversary; sadly the universe had different plans and I never got to see my friend again. His warmth, his ability to smile whilst crying openly, his genuine expression of compassion, his refreshing openness, all combined to make Robert a very special human. He was someone that I always looked forward to seeing and I am not alone in saying that spending time in his company was a pure pleasure even in the circumstances in which we met. I have spoken to many who met Robert and everyone has the same recollection of this incredible and inspiring man. I am privileged to have been able to get to know him and I will miss him enormously. His loss has left a huge gap in the TCF community and I know I speak for all of us when I convey my sincerest condolences to his wife Deborah and to all the family for whom the loss will be greater. I’m sure that you will all join me in wishing Robert farewell and, personally, I would like to say thank you Robert for your smile. Good night and sleep well dear friend. Maria Ahern, Trustee Deborah, Robert’s wife has written… “ “ Please reassure your companions at TCF that I intend to hold a church service and gathering afterwards to celebrate Robert’s life this time next year. Robert truly valued everything and everybody at TCF and has bequeathed a donation in his Will.
